Today was a big day: Isla's First Movie!
I always surprise myself with the milestones that "get me," and this one had me unexpectedly teary the whole day!
We had a hard time getting out the door this morning (toddler life!) but once we were out we made our way over to Silver Diner for breakfast, Jonas Brothers blasting for my little two-nager who's been into all the pop songs lately.
Isla couldn't stop talking about how she was excited to see Aladdin on the "big TV," and insisted on taking photos in front of the theater and the Aladdin movie poster. We popped into the photobooth for a few cute photos, and then we found our way to our seats.
She did so well, and really enjoyed herself. I had been nervous about taking her, and wasn't sure if she'd sit through the whole movie, but she loved it and danced through every song (especially Prince Ali!). When we left, she kept telling me how proud she was of herself!
It took me back to my childhood, the excitement of seeing movies with my parents and my brother, rainy summer afternoons. It feels like the beginning of another stage of life with my little girl, bittersweet because I'm already missing her baby days, but also so exciting because I love seeing the world through her eyes as she grows.
Girl dates with my sweet babe make it so much easier to get through the long work week ❤
